Went to see my new Doctor yesterday. I discovered a few things while I was there. I have diabetes and haha, like I didn't know....high cholesterol. But the worse was that my old Doctor lost his medical license! I almost cried when he told me that.
I really like my new Doctor and will continue seeing him. He is very personable and has a good sense of humor, plus.......he's appears to be knowledgeable! With my old Doctor, if something was wrong with me, that I didn't know what it was, I'd see a Specialist. With this Doctor I'll take a chance.
When he was telling me about my old Doctor, he said of all his patients he took over for, everyone of us had some type of quirky prescription happening. I felt like I had to stick up for myself and my old Doctor, by saying -yes I know that medication was a tad excessive, but it was by far better than the Stadol nasal spray he had me on originally. His eyes bugged out and he told me that they usually prescribe that stuff to cancer patients, but my Doctor read up on it while I was sitting there, and it is also prescribed for migraines. I just didn't like it....the first 3 seconds where fine...but it was like a damn scary roller coaster ride that just wouldn't stop till I fell asleep.
I was like, -there, see I could have been a drug addict if I so chose!
I do have to say this Doctor is a tad bit overly paranoid about giving me too much medication for my panic disorder. That pisses me off, I explained to him I don't have an addictive personality, that I was able to quit my pain medication without even having residual headaches, that I was taking that medication almost daily for over 7 years. That once I stopped the prozac, a week and a half later, I was migraine free. He said he didn't want to give me too much of it because it has a tendency of making a person Zombie-like. Yeah and fuck you, go to friggin Haiti's and check out them zombies.
