Should I or Should I Not

I had put in a letter about a month ago for full time. The Sergeant said to me, "why couldn't you have given me this letter 2 days ago, I just sent a letter of acceptance to the other girl."
Well as things have turned out the other girl that got it, has also gotten fired. I'm wondering if I should decline the full time, for fear of getting fired. Nurse Ratchett seems to be a black widow spider.
